I guess is was bound to happen at some point, when you deal with rescuing dogs that are in need of help...
We lost our fist foster dog this week - we had Toby put to sleep due to illness. We only knew Toby for a few weeks but in that time two things became apparent to us: 1) Toby was a great lab that only wanted to be loved 2) his diabetes was going to be very difficult to control and it was going to be very difficult, if not impossible to find him a new home.
Realizing both of these items we had decided to adopt Toby into our family. Unfortunately we never got the chance, Toby took a turn for the worse and very rapidly we saw him become unable to walk or control his movements, and was having seizures very often.
We’re glad we were able to give Toby a good place to live out his final weeks, and only hope that he enjoyed them and felt loved. Toby you will be missed!
